Nancy's coming home

My dad left for the airport(Lindberg International) a while ago. He should be home soon with my sister. Apparently her semester or quarter has ended so she's coming home.

PEPSI

I had my mom buy some 8 oz. cans of PEPSI. Now that's a good size fore me. If I haven't been eating, I can drink a regular size can, but usually an 8 oz. can is all that I want.

Sunday, March 20

Friday I got a call while at work ....that Friday was my last day.

Then last night I made a bunch of cards with questions on them for ice breakers to use on Sunday mornings when John1:1 meets. Just a little something to say our names and get to know one another.

I also recently bought almost all of the ingredients to make a copykat batch of GirlScout Samoa cookies. However, I forgot to buy some sweetened condenced milk.

New Job

I started a new job on Monday.

It's just for a few weeks. It's at UCSD. I'm doing clerical work and stuff. I'll fill in details later.

First Sunday

Every first Sunday, John 1:1 goes out to eat for lunch. We decided to go to the Pat & Oscar's restaurant.

Darciann and Rick Samples were there with their almost 4 year old son Isaac. Two new guys were there, but I don't think I can remember their names. Patty was there, although she went to 11:00 service instead of coming to class. Scott was there. Dennis wasn't there, but he had been at class. Karl Meuser was there with his fiancee Lisa Larson and her son Zachary. There was one girl who's fairly new, but she's been coming to the Thursday night singles dinner studies as well (I'm blanking on her name ). Last but not least Daniel and Phaik (pronounced like "cake" with a P). This may have been their last event with us as a group. Daniel is in the Navy and is being deported to a city in Texas.

I remember when we were almost done with our meals the current topic of discussion was which season everybody was or we tried to figure out which season a person was if that person didn't know. My season is Autumn.

Some days....You just wish you could kick yourself

This morning I went to the San Diego School District's downtown office place where you go to take the aptitude test, for if you want to apply for a job.

So, I drove over there at 9:00 am to make sure I knew I was in the right place and had a parking space. Then the test would start at 9:30 am.

However, I was almost prepared, but not totally.

I had:

  • my driver's license for my id.

  • two #2 pencils and a chunky eraser.

  • two calculators, one regular calculator, and one scientific calculator--just in case they had restrictions on what kind or type of calculator you could use.

What I didn't have--my high school diploma.

I rescheduled my test appointment and went home. Then, I immediately went to the top of my closet and took down my plastic box of high school graduation materials. Taking out my diploma, I went downstairs and set it on the dining room table.

I need better habits. I should have done this last night.
